    The Practical Innovator is an invitation-only day-long executive education program at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. Valued at $2,500, this one-day scholarship is provided, free-of-charge, to one representative from each of the Top 75 nominees. The nominees selected to participate in The Practical Innovator will also be invited to take part in the "People's Choice Award" voting later this month.     Keynote speakers:

    William “Beau” Wrigley, Jr. This year's Distinguished Innovator Award will be presented to William "Beau" Wrigley, the fourth-generation leader of the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company. Beau began his career with the company in 1985 and became Chairman, President and CEO in 1999.  During his leadership, the company became a recognized global leader in confections, grew from $2 billion to $6 billion in annual sales and expanded its reach to consumers in 180 countries.  After Wrigley was acquired by privately held Mars, Incorporated in 2008, Beau held the role of Executive Chairman of the Wrigley Company and played a key role in the successful integration of the companies through 2009. Currently, Beau serves on the Senior Advisory Council of BDT Capital Partners, a Chicago-based merchant bank that provides long-term capital and advisory services to family owned companies and entrepreneurs. He is a Trustee of Conservation International and Co-Chair of their Ocean Health Council, a member of the National Geographic Society’s Council of Advisors, and serves on the boards of The Economic Club of Chicago and the North Shore University Healthcare System.  He also is a member of the Business Council and the Chicago Chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization.  Beau is a 1985 graduate of Duke University with a B.A. in Economics and attended the Wharton School of Business Advanced Management Program in 1994.   Additionally, he was in the 1997 inaugural class of the Aspen Institute’s Henry Crown Fellowship Program. Miles White This year's Visionary Award will be presented to Miles White, Chairman and CEO of Abbott, the global pharmaceutical and medical products company that has won more awards than any other organization in the Chicago Innovation Awards ten year history. Mr. White also serves as a director of McDonald's Corporation, Caterpillar Inc. and the Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He serves as Chairman of the Dean's Advisory Board at Kellogg School of Management and The Culver Educational Foundation. He is former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, The Economic Club of Chicago, and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.
    Second City, this year's Spirit of Innovation Award recipient, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary as the world's premier comedy club and school of improvisation, and will be on hand to provide entertainment throughout the evening. This milestone 10th anniversary ceremony will coincide with the release of a new book, Innovating... Chicago-Style: How Local Innovators are Building the National Economy. The book features the Chicago region's greatest innovators of the past decade telling their inspiring stories of success. The Executives’ Club Tech Summit: Innovation’s Impact on the Bottom Line

On June 1st, The Executives’ Club of Chicago will host the Technology Leadership Summit, in commemoration of their Centennial Season. As part of this special day-long summit, The Executives’ Club has asked the Chicago Innovation Awards to host the grand finale event, Innovation’s Impact on the Bottom Line. For this event, Tom Kuczmarski, Co-Founder of the Chicago Innovation Awards will moderate a panel consisting of past Chicago Innovation Award winners and sponsors. The panel will discuss how to leverage technology in order to enhance business models to produce products, services, jobs and profitability.
