The Institute for Green Business Certification, Inc (IGBC) is a third party accrediting organization serving the U.S. with 13 offices, Canada with 2 offices, South America, Asia and soon to be South Africa and the U.K.

We provide environmental management and sustainability consulting to businesses, and organizations. Our 38 page Audit is becoming the standard for what it means to be a Green business.

Our sustainability program defines key areas and specific guidelines in categories such as Recycling, Water Conservation, Energy Conservation, Waste Reduction And "Environmentally Friendly Purchasing”.

IGBC is believed to be the oldest organization of its kind to certify business environmental practices.

Another category of sustainability to add to your certification process would be locally sourcing sustainably grown/organic food (better for public health and for the environment).

Do you coordinate with other green certification standards, such as Green Hotels, Green Restaurant Association, Audubon Certification for Golf Courses (wildlife habitat, water protection/conservation) ?

It is a good reminder. Filling out the audit helped me to be aware of environmental issues in day to day activity. http://www.winmentalhealth.com

Thanks!
