I love the work of World Bicycle Relief. Transportation is a key tool of empowerment, and it seems that these folks have got it right.

Considering the myriad of challenges LDCs face, the system for dispensing and maintaining health services for their general population not to mention populations in rural areas will continue to be a very serious challenge. WBR has an outstanding program that it has developed to assist local people as they range further, do more work, and give needed assistance than the distances foot travel, or the rare vehicular routes have allowed in their efforts to get aid, medicine, supplies to greater numbers of people. WBR's efforts haven't just stepped in as invaluable partner in creating and maintaining a truly sustainable service, WBR has actually made an amazing difference in the countries it has programs. Please applaud their efforts and vote for them.

World Bicycle Relief also reduces the amount of time it takes people, most often women and girls, to fetch drinking water for their families, enabling many to have time to further their education, rather than spend hours each week in obtaining water.

The Day's vision for WBR is simple yet revolutionary. I am honored to work with and support them. As a cyclist I know first hand how a bicycle can be transformational for the body, mind, and soul. WBR is taking the power of the bicycle to an entirely new level- transforming lives & communities one bike at a time.

WBR is providing real life solutions to world problems through the simple offering of bicycles. It's practical; it's functional; it's economical and feasible; and it feeds the spirit.
