Coskata’s feedstock flexible ethanol production process

Coskata Inc.

Coskata is pioneering an innovative approach to ethanol production using a variety of input material including biomass, agricultural and municipal wastes, as well as other carbonaceous material. The company utilizes a hybrid thermo-biological process leveraging proprietary microorganisms and patented bioreactor designs to yield one of the most efficient, flexible, and sustainable means of ethanol production available today. The company will sustainably produce feedstock flexible ethanol from non-food, renewable resources that will reduce ghg emissions by as much as 80-90% (Argonne National Laboratory). Feedstock flexible ethanol from Coskata has the ability to reduce dependence on foreign sources of oil, address food-for-fuel concerns, and create green infrastructure and jobs to fuel economic growth and environmental sustainability. Coskata is currently producing ethanol at the pilot scale at its headquarters in Warrenville, Ill. Later this year, the company will produce ethanol at its semi-commercial plant located in Madison, PA. Commercial scale production is anticipated in 2012. visit www.coskata.com for more information.
