The Model YWCA

YWCA Metropolitan Chicago

In response to the changing economic climate, YWCA Metropolitan Chicago created the concept of the Model YWCA – a more holistic, comprehensive approach to serving the city’s changing demographics. The Model YWCA turns the dreams of individual women into concrete economic progress, resulting in a stronger workforce, reduced gender- and race-associated violence, and increased opportunities for Chicago’s working women. With innovative new programs in Economic Empowerment, a Center for Racial Justice and Activism, and the opening of two new empowerment centers, the Model YWCA is changing the landscape for women across the Chicago metropolitan area.
